Have you all ever been excited about something that you bought, and it felt like Christmas all over again when you brought it home. Well, that is how I felt when I brought home my new The Pioneer Woman by Ree Drummond stainless steel copper bottom pot set (The Pioneer Woman Copper Charm 10-Piece Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Cookware) purchased these lovely stainless steel beauties recently from Walmart and I am in love with them. This is my first stainless steel cookware set!
The 10-piece set includes a 4 qt. covered saute pan, dutch oven with lid and steemer insert, fry pan, 2.5 qt. sauce pan with lid and a 1.7 qt. sauce pan with lid. So far, I have cooked chicken and shrimp pasta and made spaghetti in the pots. The pot handles do not get hot in addition to the glass lids fitting perfectly while cooking. One thing I have learned while cooking with stainless copper bottom over an electric range is the temperature heats the pots very fast and evenly. Therefore, with this cookware set adjusting the temperature while cooking to medium-low works best. That’s not a bad thing at all since you know that it makes it easier to cook your food at an even temperature.
The only drawback that I have about the frying pan is that it doesn’t fry or scramble eggs very well. I used butter to melt in the pan and once it was hot enough, lowered it to add the eggs for cooking over easy. Next thing I knew the eggs started sticking to the pan….even after I lowered the burner to low. Same issue with scrambling eggs. The fiance also mentioned to me that the same thing happened to him. I guess we’ll just have to practice some more on using the fry pan for eggs. In the meantime, we just use the cast iron skillet for that.
Did I mention that we threw away all of my mix matched teflon pots after purchasing these beauties. No more teflon pots for me!
